What to Expect

A straightforward, medical assessment. Your appointment is a focused medical skin examination using dermoscopy and AI technology using OptimaScan.

If anything suspicious is found, we will explain next steps clearly during your visit.

No referral required. Most visits are completed in a single appointment.

Check in and history

We’ll ask about:

  • Any specific moles or areas of concern

  • Personal or family history of skin cancer

  • Any recent changes in your skin

Full skin examination

A trained medical professional will perform a head-to-toe skin check.

This is a visual medical assessment focused on identifying suspicious lesions.

AI-assisted mole mapping

A digital imaging system that records and tracks moles over time, allowing comparison between visits to detect subtle changes that may not be visible during a standard skin exam and support earlier identification of lesions requiring further assessment.

Dermoscopic evaluation

Any moles of concern are examined more closely using dermoscopy, which allows for detailed evaluation beneath the skin surface.

Next steps (if required)

If a lesion requires further investigation:

  • A biopsy may be performed on-site

  • Clear instructions will be provided before you leave

  • Follow-up is coordinated as needed

How long it takes

Most appointments take 20–30 minutes, depending on the number of moles assessed.

If additional procedures are required, we will explain timing clearly in advance.

What you may feel during the visit

  • The exam is non-invasive

  • You will be asked to undress to underwear (or as much as you are comfortable with) for a full skin check

  • A chaperone can be requested at any time

  • Privacy and comfort are maintained throughout

After your appointment

You will leave with one of the following:

  • Reassurance that no concerning lesions were found

  • A follow-up plan for monitoring certain moles

  • A biopsy or referral pathway if further assessment is needed

Don’t wait and wonder

If you’re concerned about a mole or skin change, early assessment is key.
